European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development

Overview

The Rural Development Programme England (RDPE) provides funding for projects that create jobs and growth in the rural economy. Under the RDPE Growth Programme, there are grants for:

  • Business Development
  • Food Processing
  • Rural Tourism Infrastructure

The grants are funded through the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), which is part of the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF). The Thames Valley Berkshire LEP area has a notional allocation of £1,125,081 and our priority is for this to be invested in projects that support business development and rural tourism.

Open EAFRD Funding Opportunities

EAFRD funding through the RDPE Growth Programme supports projects that increase rural jobs, growth and productivity in Thames Valley Berkshire. Funding is split across three specific strands – business development, food processing and rural tourism infrastructure.

Businesses and organisations can apply to the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) for EAFRD grants through the RDPE Growth Programme. There is a two-stage application process comprising submission of an Expression of Interest (EoI) followed, subject to acceptance of the initial proposal, by submission of a full application.

The LEADER programme has been running across England for more than 10 years and a new round of grant funding will now operate until 2019. It is different to the EAFRD programme but we are working with the below LEADER group to ensure that there is complementarity:
