Thames Valley Berkshire LEP Recovery and Renewal Roundtables
The impacts of Covid-19 are bringing unprecedented challenges to Thames Valley Berkshire. We do not yet fully know how our economy will be impacted by the crisis, but we are committed to safeguarding business interests and protecting the existing economic strengths of the Berkshire economy as we all adapt to the post Covid-19 landscape.
In Autumn, the Government will publish its Devolution and Recovery White Paper and we anticipate that it will include a requirement for locally agreed economic recovery and renewal plans to be in place by December 2020/January 2021 as a gateway to access future funding.
In order to develop a ‘Berkshire Local Recovery and Renewal Strategy’, Thames Valley Berkshire LEP is hosting a series of virtual roundtables to review our Local Industrial Strategy and reassess its priorities so that we can effectively support Berkshire economy’s recovery and renewal from the impact of the pandemic. We are hosting three separate virtual roundtables covering Western, Central and Eastern Berkshire focusing on the LEP’s three Programme areas: Infrastructure & Place, Business Environment & Ideas and People & Skills. We are keen that we challenge our thinking in these areas.
The ‘Berkshire Local Recovery and Renewal Strategy’ will be a key element of our response to the impact of Covid-19 and it is our ambition to build a more sustainable and resilient local economy and we want you to be a part of the discussion. The roundtables will enable the LEP to implement the requirements for local economic recovery planning that may be required in the White Paper.
